OBITUARY
Mildred Audrey Kavanagh
August 8, 1933 – December 19, 2018
With sadness and heavy hearts her family announces that Mildred passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the age of 85.
Beloved wife of Gerald “Gerry” for 59 years. Loving mother of Dale and Colleen (Herb) Harney. Devoted grandmother to Julie (Isaac Mullin). She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Diane Puddester and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Violet Fifield, sisters Elsie (Gord) Mercer and Lillian (Gerald) Rees and brother-in-law Clayton Puddester.
Mildred was one of the kindest, warmest souls you could ever meet. She was a true Newfoundlander, making all feel welcome in her home, ensuring no one left without a full belly. She enjoyed people, treating family, friends and strangers with kindness and respect. She was at her best when she was helping others. She enjoyed her time working at the C.M.H. Cafeteria but her true passions were caring for her family, spending time with friends, and playing cards.
The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to all of the staff at Hilltop Manor, especially the 3rd Floor staff and the support staff, for their extremely compassionate care.
Visitation will be held at the T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St. Cambridge, ON, (519-623-1290) on Thursday, December 27, from 2– 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be said at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Church (210 South St. Cambridge, ON 519-621-2013) on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to support Hilltop Manor, Cambridge would be appreciated by the family.

Death notice for the town of: cambridge, Province: Ontario
Dale and Family,
I am truly sorry for this significant loss in your life. I added a few things to think about during this time. These words helped me a get through a difficult time last year.
Life is fragile, precious and unpredictable and each day is a gift, not a right. The days tick by and you just expect they will keep on coming until something unexpected happens. Do what you can to make your time on earth worthy and great.
Get out amongst nature. Get up early sometime and listen to the birds chirping while you watch the beautiful sunrise. Take a deep breath of fresh air, smell the roses, look at the blue sky, lush green tress and azure water. Nature is resplendent and beautiful. Dip your feet in the water and your toes in the sand. Think about how lucky we are to just breathe.
Appreciate your good health and functioning body – even if it isn’t your ideal image. Look after it and embrace how amazing it is. Move it around and nourish it with good food and don’t obsess over it.
Don’t complain about things like work and exercise. Be grateful you are physically able to do these things. Work and exercise seem like such trivial things until the day comes that your body doesn’t allow you to do either of them.
Remember your mom fondly and with happiness.
