Michael James Cassidy
September 30, 1928 – July 8, 2018
Peacefully on July 8th, 2018 at home in his 90th year.
Born in Enterprise, Ontario. Beloved husband of Jean (nee Clawsie). Loving father of Brian and Ruth Cassidy, Oakville, Pat and Dave Cheetham, Simcoe, Mark and Toni Cassidy, Ingersoll, Tim and Karen Cassidy, Dundas, Jim and Kim Cassidy, Brantford and Jennifer and Eric Loche, Port Charlotte, Florida. Loving grandfather of Mark (Angelica), Michelle (Chris), Cris, Casey, Ryan, Ethan, T. J., Kyle, Erin, Annie, Kate, Tyler, Joshua, Camryn and predeceased by a precious granddaughter Leah. Great-grandfather of James, Aaron, Rachel, Anna, Sophia, Benjamin, Julia, Simon, Kira and Timothy. Brother-in-law to Ruby Cassidy, Doris Myke, Josephine and the late Michael John “Jack” Clawsie, Patricia and Raymond Ballantyne, William and Maryanne Clawsie and Mary and Michael Bodnar. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mabel (Kidd) Cassidy and his brothers Dan, Gerald, Vern, Tom, Wilfred and Don and his sister Colleen Koscis and his first wife Barbara. Michael was proud of his 30 years with Masseys and enjoyed many happy years in retirement. His family meant the world to him and he took great joy in hearing about the grand and great grandchildren’s lives. Michael will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West St., on Friday, July 13th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 9:30am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice or VON would be appreciated by the family.
