Obituary of Melvin Metzger
Died peacefully at home, RR 2, Wallenstein, on Friday, February 9, 2018, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Malinda (Shantz) Metzger (2006). Dear father of Salome and Cleason Martin of RR 3, Mount Forest, Nancy and Levi Weber of RR 1, Wallenstein, Onias and Mary Metzger of RR 1, Moorefield, Lena and Edgar Martin of RR 3, Harriston, Esther and Soloman Martin and Hannah and George Martin, all of RR 2, West Montrose, Elmeda and Noah Martin of RR 3, Waterloo, Paul Metzger of RR 2, Tavistock, Louisa Metzger and Emma and Nelson Martin, all of RR 2, Wallenstein. Also survived by 46 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Brother of Alvin Metzger of Wallenstein and Amos and Esther Metzger of Linwood. Brother-in-law of Hettie (Mrs. Sidney) Metzger of Wallenstein and Louisa (Mrs. Elam) Metzger of Floradale. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Magdalena (Buehler) Metzger, a son in infancy, a son-in-law, six brothers Edwin, Urias, Sidney, George, Henry, and Elam, a sister Susannah and Abram Brubacher, and four sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends may call at his home, 7370 Third Line, RR 2, Wallenstein, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2-6 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1-5 p.m. A family service will be held at the home on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 9 a.m., then to Olivet Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
