Meldon Arthur DeWolfe
1940-2018
Meldon DeWolfe,
77, of West River passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2018 at
the Moncton Hospital
having been surrounded and supported by his family during his time at
the hospital.
He was born in Germantown on May 12th, 1940the son of the
late Sylvester and Arreta (Mathews) DeWolfe.
Meldon worked
for Modern Construction and also worked in the woods. He enjoyed his
home in West River, it was his little piece of paradise, with his
beautiful garden that he was so proud. He always had lots of
veggies to share with his neighbours and friends. Meldon
also enjoyed tinkering on his vehicles and often lended a hand to
others if they needed a vehicle repaired, he liked doing mechanic and
bodywork. He enjoyed going to music nights and attended many
festivals over the years. In the past few years he
especially enjoyed his time at the trailer in Richibucto Village with
Tellefa. He
felt so blessed to have his family and friends, he told
everyone how lucky he was and for all the good memories he
had. He will be remembered for his great smile and laugh,
big hugs, his continuous teasing and being there when you needed him
most. We love you and will live with us
forever.
He will be deeply missed by his children, John DeWolfe
(Terry) of West River, Michael DeWolfe of West River and Lia DeWolfe
(Gardner) of West River; his grandchildren, Justin (Erika),
Laura, Thomas (Natasha); step-grandchildren, Kassondra(Jon) and Alain;
precious great grandchildren, Aiden, Alexis, Sawyer, Sadie and
Scarlett, Neveah and Oakland; step-great grandchildren, Paisley,
Hunter and Willow. He will also be sadly missed by his
special friend, Tellefa known to Meldon as “Todd” and her
son, Mark who became a good friend as well; special niece, Kathy Tower
(Kenny) of Germantown and by several nieces, nephews and all his
extended family and friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife,
Phyllis (Davis) DeWolfe; sister, Aileen Johnson; brother, Floyd and
nephew Robert.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Sunday evening from 7-9pm. The funeral service
will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday, February
12th, 2018 at 2:00pm with Pastor Terry Branscombe
officiating. Following the service the family will be
meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and
for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in
the Alma United Cemetery, Alma, NB at a later date.
Donations to the NB Lung Association or to the charity of
the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
