Max S. Zollner
1935-2018
It is with great sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of Max Sherwin
Zollner, age 82, of Springhill, NS. Max
passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018.
Born in Glenville, NS, he was a son of
the late Joseph and Elsa (Gehlert) Zollner.
Max moved from Glenville to Ontario at
the age of 18 to work as a Mechanic. He met his wife Liz
there; they married and began a family. He returned to Springhill
about 25 years later to help his parents as they got older.
He continued working as a mechanic and loved working and spending time
in the blueberry fields. His pride and joy was his tractor,
and touring the countryside with Liz listening to old country
music.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of
50 years Elizabeth “Liz” Mary (Arsenault), Springhill;
children Helen (Raymond) Proulx, Welland, ON; Lynne Thompson (Aarne
Pitkanen) and Kevin (Monique) Zollner, Springhill; grandchildren
Nicole, Mathew, Billie, Carrie, Bobby, Amy, Nicholas, Alex and Corey
and many great grandchildren; sister Jeanine Yamamoto, Montreal, PQ;
many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter
Melissa Zollner.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of the A H Brown Funeral
Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361),
where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 6 to 8
pm. A funeral service for Max will be held from the funeral
home on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2 pm, Rev. Wayne McCarther
officiating. Burial will take place in the spring in the
Glenville Cemetery.
Donations in Max’s memory may be made to
the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of your
choice.
