Maureen Hope Steele 19462018

On Thursday, August 30th, 2018, Maureen Hope Steele, of Charlottetown,
passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital.
Born in St. Catharines, Ontario on the 30th of March 1946, she was the
beloved mother to sons Nic (Tess) Steele of Cobble Hill, BC; Daniel
(Jessica) Steele of Halifax, NS and Adam Steele of Victoria, BC.
Proud grandmother to Indira Hall-Steele and Wilfred Steele. Loving
sister of Paul Hubbard (Joan) and Nancy Hubbard (Dennis Smith).
Predeceased by her loving husband Gerry Steele, parents Fred and
Marion (Nelson) Hubbard and her brother Dennis Hubbard. She was also
loved by an enormous group of extended family and friends here on the
Island. Maureen lived a full life despite facing many challenges
along the way. She enjoyed traveling out west to visit her sons and
around the continent to visit friends and family. She was very
courageous in all the decisions she made, facing each day with
positivity and faith with the support of family, friends, home care
workers and the staff at the Prince Edward Home.
She will be resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Tuesday at 9:30
a.m. then to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10:00
a.m. Interment in St. Eugene’s Parish Cemetery, Covehead. Visitation
Monday 2-5 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Pat and the Elephant.
