Maureen Gertrude MacLean
The death of Maureen Gertrude MacLean of Dalhousie occurred peacefully with family present on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late David and Corinne (Normandeau) Harquail.
She is survived by her husband Reginald, son Scott (Nicole) of Hanwell, N.B., grandchildren Tyler and Jana, as well as her brother, Dr. Maurice (Edna) Harquail of Kentville, N.S., sisters in-law Wendy Carter (Bobby) of Charlo, N.B.; Fern MacLean of Campbellton, N.B., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maureen graduated from College Notre Dame D’Acadie as a medical secretary in 1958 and immediately started working for Dr. Ben Pothier in Dalhousie and continued for the next 19 years, with the remainder of her 37 year career at the X-Ray Department of Saint Joseph’s Hospital and the East Restigouche Community Health Care Centre.
Maureen was also a long time member of the Saint John Bosco C.W.L.
Her funeral will be held from St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie, Friday, September 7th at 11 AM. Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home, Black Point.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Campbellton Regional Hospital , Surgical Unit, the “angels” in ICU and Judy of Palliative Care as well as to Dr. Rosental, Dr. Sinha, Dr. Abash and Dr. MacMillan for the special care given to Maureen, Reg and family. Special thanks to Father Morrison for his many visits, prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of donor’s choice in memory of Maureen would be appreciated by the family.
