OBITUARY
Mary Lou Shalala
July 28, 1950 – August 16, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Mary Lou Shalala.
Mary Lou, age 68, of Campbellton NB, passed away at York Care Center in Fredericton on Thursday, August 16, 2018, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Mary Lou will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her 4 daughters; Michelle Durette (Philip) of Fredericton; Paulette Adams (David) of Moncton; Angela Hicks (Steven) of Fredericton; Krista Ann Metallic (Nicholas Baun) of Listiguj; 8 grandchildren; Andrew, Joshua, Alison, Grace, Kerrigan, Heatley, Sophia and Paisley-Joey; and great grandchild Cayden.
As a mother, Mary Lou was a wonderful role model for her daughters. She will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, as someone with a strong work ethic, extremely kind and a friend to many.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents Doris and Ross Cronkwright, brothers Ross and Andrew, sisters Dona Stevens and Dee Buchanan, and husband Michael Shalala.
A celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne Street, Campbellton NB, on Friday August 24th at 2:00pm.
Donations in memory of Mary Lou can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the York Care Foundation in Fredericton.
