Obituary for Mary Johanna Janmaat (Van Dyk)
Mary passed away peacefully with loving family by her side at Seaforth Long Term Care Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Born in Haastrecht, Holland, June 14, 1923, Mary Johanna (Van Dyk) Janmaat of Seaforth, was in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late John Janmaat (Dec. 20, 2014). Loving mother of Luke (Bonnie) of Seaforth, Ken (Deb) of Seaforth, Mary Johnston (Danny) of Sarnia, John of Bayfield, Ann Cronin (Gary) of St. Columban, Ted (MaryAnne) of Clinton, Joan Bridge (Scott) of Wingham, Ron (Colleen) of Seaforth and Paul (Lori) of Ailsa Craig. Cherished Grandma of 26, Great-Grandma of 25 and Great-Great-Grandma of one. Mary will also be missed by her brother Jan (Ilse) Van Dyk of Holland, as well as her other extended Van Dyk and Janmaat family members, both here in Canada and in Holland.
Visitation will be held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday, April 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial led by Fr. Clare Coleman will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria St., Seaforth, on Saturday, April 14th at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at the Seaforth Legion, Branch 156, and interment will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery later in the spring.
