KIRBY, Mary Guppy Burke (nee White) – Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, Mary Kirby, age 89 years. Predeceased by her loving husband O.W. “Puck” Kirby (2001); parents, Alexander and Bertha White; brother, Alexander F. White; special cousin, Norma Fox; and close friends: Phyllis Bennett, Helen Marquis and Millie (Len) Badcock. Left to cherish her memory, her two sons: George Burke (Ruth) and Wallace Burke (Hazel); grandchildren: James (Michelle), Sean (Deanne) and Georgia (Patrick); 8 great-grandchildren: Alexander, Lucas, Teaghan, Brandon, Brody, Isaiah, Rhiannon and Gabriel; sister-in-law, Anita White; niece Roxanne; nephew, Philip; special cousins: Gertie Hedges, Maude Kirby and Ruby Lockheart (Rev. Charles “Chuck”); as well as members of the Kirby family, other family members and a large circle of friends – including life-long friends “The Shawmont Girls” and close friends Olive and Roy Sansom. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 2:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral service to be held at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
