passed away peacefully on July 13, 2018 at the Southampton Care Centre, where she had resided for the past 2 years.
Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, Crawford Rose and Julia Rose (nee Pommer), her husband Reginald Tucker, daughter Judy Drury, grandson Dustin Drury, brother Clayton Rose and nephew Colin Rose.
Dearly missed by her son David Tucker (Anna) of Port Elgin, granddaughters Cailynn Tucker (Kyle) of Stratford, and Lauryn Tucker (Erin) of Halifax, NS and grandson Tyler Drury of London.
Mary was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on April 7, 1933. Her family then moved to Coleman, Alberta for a number of years before finally settling in Aurora, Ontario in 1944. Mary went into Nursing and worked in hospitals in Toronto and Windsor before becoming a Stay-at-Home Mom. Mary, Reg, David and Judy moved to Port Elgin, from Bramalea, in 1978 and loved the small-town life that it offered!
She loved to sew and knit! She made all of the competition uniforms for all of the majorettes in Bramalea from 1974 to 1977. Mary also turned knitting into more than just a hobby, while living in Port Elgin. She attended many craft shows in the area in the 80’s and 90’s, making many cherished friendships, and in recent years she still saw some of the sweaters she sold, walking around town years after she stopped selling them. Her other passion were her many dogs that she had over the years. She often reminisced about Lady, Heidi, Mitzi, Toby and Koko during visits by friends and family.
There will be no formal service. Interment following cremation will be at Sanctuary Park Port Elgin.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Elizabeth Rose Tucker July 13 2018.source
