Obituary Overview
Mary “Dale” Cox
COX, Mary “Dale”
It is with love and joy that we celebrate the life of Mary “Dale” Cox (Meisner). Dale passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Victoria General Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born on November 1st, 1952, a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Meisner. Dale and her husband, Bruce shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, with most of that time spent at their family home in Windsor Junction. Dale was an encouraging mother, supporting both of her children in pursuing their career and personal goals. She spent many years at the hockey rink supporting her son Ian, and many evenings and weekends with Robyn at the soccer field or taking her to art class. She was feisty and stubborn, yet soft and loving. She is remembered first and foremost as the biggest cheerleader for her children, and a loyal best friend and partner to her husband. She is remembered as a loving and supportive wife and mother, with a passion for gardening, music, animals, and travel. She had a special love for Hawaii, a destination near and dear to her and husband Bruce. Dale’s memory can be felt by way of their beautiful gardens which she spent a lifetime creating and evolving. Our fondest family memories come by way of moments on the patio or in the garden, beer in hand, with her favourite music playing. Dale will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Bruce; cherished children Robyn (Mike) and Ian (Megan); sister, Jan (David); brothers, Kent (Ann) and Andrew; nieces, nephews, extended family and her loving fur babies, Freddy Mercury and K-os. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 3p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., followed by a reception in the Waverley Legion, 2234 Rocky Lake Drive. Please wear your Hawaiian shirts as Dale would want you to celebrate in colour as she lived. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer society or a charity of choice would be appreciated. Online condolences may be sent to www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com Sackville Chapel.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Dale Cox 2018..
