Mary Crawford (Goudie) Elliott passed away peacefully at Hastings Manor, Belleville, in her 97th year on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the company of her loving daughters. Mary was born in Paisley, Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1945. Beloved wife of the late Robert Aikenhead Elliott for 50 years. Survived by her sister Flora Reid of Scotland. Loving Mother of Fiona Ballantyne, Mairi Beaven (Philip) and Andrea Nelson (late Jim Nelson). Predeceased by her daughter Sheena McCarten.… Read More » Fondly remembered and missed by her 10 grandchildren, Cameron Ballantyne, Elliott Ballantyne, Neal McCarten (Vanessa), Kate McCarten, Courtney Levesque (Jeff), Lyndsey Aalbers, Christine Beaulieu (Billy), James Nelson (Charlotte), Jennifer Nelson (Alex), Robert Nelson (Amelia) and her 17 great grandchildren. Mary enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and returned to her beloved Scotland many times over the years to explore and to visit family and friends. Mary’s other interests included curling, knitting, reading, gardening, cooking, story telling and volunteering but her greatest love was for her family and she treasured the times when the families came together to celebrate an event. Mary will be missed by her many friends. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Wooler United Church on March 16, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
