Mark Francis Lennan
Lennan, Mark Francis, age 62, of Dartmouth passed away suddenly on January 23, 2018, in Halifax.
Born in Fredericton, he was a son of William and the late Shirley Lennan.
Mark worked at the Master’s Group in Burnside as a C.E.T. He worked in the HVAC industry for the past 40 years. He loved boating, golfing, all sports, especially hockey. He spent his summers at the shores in Carter’s Point, N.B., along the Saint John River with many family and friends. He loved traveling with Cathy and treasured the road trip to Cape Cod in their Corvette the most.
Mark was a wonderful father who was very proud of his children and all of their accomplishments and was a mentor to his family and extended family.
Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cathy (Gillis); daughter Kayla (Clayton) Cole, Dartmouth; sons, Christopher, Fort McMurray, AB, and Justin, of Dartmouth. In addition to his father William, he is also survived by his siblings, Ruth (Rex) Tracy, Fredericton, NB, and John (Laureen) Lennan, Carter’s Point, NB; mother-in-law, Evelyn Gillis, Skye Glen, CB; brothers-in-law, Jack Gillis, of Skye Glen, C.B., Cliff (Judy) Gillis, of Dartmouth, Dale (Tanya) Gillis, Port Hawkesbury, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his dog Sochi.
He was predeceased by his mother Shirley; and father-in-law Lawrence Gillis.
Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Saturday January 27th, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 3pm on Sunday January 28th in the funeral home chapel, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow. Cremation and interment in Cape Breton to take place at a later date.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
