Marjorie (Ronalds) Trites
May 8, 1924 – November 19, 2018
Marjorie Henderson Trites (Nee Ronalds)
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 19, 2018 at the age of 94, Mrs. Marjorie Henderson Trites. Born in Bathurst to the late Harrison and Floretta Ronalds on May 8, 1924. Marjorie was the wife of the late Wallace K. Henderson, of Campbellton and later the late Harold Trites of Fall River, Nova Scotia.
Marjorie is survived by her sons John (Wanda) of Miramichi and David (Lori) of Dalhousie Junction, a sister Grace Howatt, of Calgary Alberta, as well as two grandchildren Ian of Fredericton and Hanna of Dalhousie Junction. Marjorie was predeceased by her sons Ronald of Campbellton, and Gary (Cindy) of Fredericton, and two daughters Janet and Ann. She was a loving Aunt and Great Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
A devoted wife, mother and caregiver, Marjorie worked most of her life tending to the needs of her loved ones. She was a wonderful cook and baker, who enjoyed sharing a good meal with family and friends. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, after completing her nurses training at the Bathurst Hospital.
Marjorie was a woman of faith who was an active member of the UCW at The First United Church in Campbellton. She enjoyed the fellowship and bonds she developed with the women in her church. She took pleasure in giving of herself to help with teas, diners and other church activities.
In recent years, Marjorie spent many hours with her dear friends at Bursey Towers.
Visitation will be held at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St. Campbellton, Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00pm and Friday at The First United Church on Aberdeen St, one hour prior to the funeral, at 2:00pm.
The family would like to thank the staff of Assisted Living at Bursey Tower, as well as the staff working on the Palliative Care floor at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marjorie, they can do so to The Tree of Hope Foundation. Marjorie made many visits to the Lodge and appreciated the services they provided.
