Obituary Overview
Schimp, Marion M.
SCHIMP, MARION M. (d’Entremont), recently of Fergus Hall, Parkland, Truro, passed away peacefully at Colchester Hospital, Truro (Palliative Care) on Sunday, October 7th in her 97th year. Born in Lower West Pubnico, July 10th 1922, she was a daughter of Leo and Eva d’Entremont. Marion and her late husband of 69 years, Alexander Schimp (Alec), had seven children; Wayne (Sandra), Garry (Linda), Diane (Gary), Terry, Donald, Joy and Sue (Garry). In addition to her children, she is survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Anselm, Lower West Pubnico, age 99 and a younger brother, Maurice. Aside from her husband, Alec, who died in June 2014, she was predeceased by a sister, Doris, and a brother Willis, both of Lower West Pubnico, and grandson, Steven. Marion was a gentle, kind soul, who lived a very full life in good health. She loved to sing! She and dad traveled extensively, and especially enjoyed more than 25 years as “snowbirds” in Florida. All in all, a life well lived including the “occasional” glass of wine or two. We were truly blessed to have our sweet mother with us for 96 years. She will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral as per her wishes. A memorial service will take place in Pubnico at a later date. Thanks for the special care and kindness of Robin and Connie and the staff at Parkland, and the compassionate nurses in 3D. We also thank Drs. Locke and Murray for their kind and understanding care. We entrust her into the hands of God.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marion Schimp 2018..
