With broken hearts but with gratitude for a life long lived, the family of Marion Joan (Craft) Schofield announce her passing which occurred on November 12, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side.
Marion was born in Saint John on June 14, 1935 and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the youngest daughter of 12 children born to the late Ernest and Hazel (Earle) Craft.
Marion is survived by her husband Gerry of 58 years, daughter Karen Stevens (Brian) of Grand Bay-Westfield; son Kevin (Cathy) of Quispamsis, grandchildren Jennifer Stevens (Harold Gallant) and Jodi Stevens, Carly Schofield (Robert Bryan), Rebecca Schofield (Tristan Matthews), Kelsey Schofield and Liam Allen, as well as brother Norman Craft of Willow Grove and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by brothers, Gordon, Hazen, Frank, Donald and Charles and sisters, Helen Rogers, Shirley Mills, Eileen (Dee Dee) Crossman, Audrey Craft and Lucy Craft.
After her children were grown, Marion returned to the workforce and worked in many retail outlets in West Saint John including floral and jewelry shops and won many awards for the sales levels she achieved. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, a good game of cards and always looked forward to the next bus trip. In younger years was an avid bowler. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Church and the Lancaster Seniors Club.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The memorial service will be held from St. Mark’s United Church, 50 Dexter Drive on Friday, November 16th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
Donations to Bobby’s Hospice, St. Mark’s United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
