With sadness but appreciation for a long life, well lived, the family of Marion Ella (MacBurnie) (DeWolfe) Bubb announce her peaceful passing at Kennebec Manor on October 17, 2018. She was born on September 20, 1929 in Port Lorne, NS to the late Norman and Louisa (Lewis) MacBurnie and was the loving wife of 35 years to husband Blayne Bubb.
Marion was a very sweet lady, who showed kindness and compassion to everyone she encountered. She worked as the Cosmetics Manager with Sears and other various retail positions during her career. She loved to tend to her flower gardens and travel. She and Blayne followed Nascar together, very closely. She loved to bake and was well known for her delicious squares, of all variations. She was a consummate hostess and loved to entertain, both family and friends. She loved her cat, Sammi-Jo and her recently departed dog, Bambi. She also devoted herself to her children and husband. She lived a very full life, was a wonderful wife and mother, and will be deeply missed.
Marion is survived by her 7 children; Robert DeWolfe, Peter DeWolfe, Mary Lou (Raymond) Perry, Andrew (Jackie) Thompson, Lynn (David) Mahaffy, Allyson (Russell) Mitton, and Heather (Andrew) Stevens, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son David DeWolfe, brothers; Sherwin and Clifford MacBurnie and her sister Vivian MacFarlane.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:30am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations made in Marion’s name to Diabetes Canada, Alzheimer Society, Kennebec Manor or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
