OBITUARY
Marie Monica Dandy
October 13, 1933 – April 10, 2018
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Marie Swan-Dandy. She passed away peacefully on April 9, 2018 at Northside Community Guest Home, North Sydney at the age of 84. She is survived by sons, Thomas, Theodore, and Percy; daughters, Rose, Lena and Joanne; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Clarence Dandy; sons, Jim and Joseph: daughters Anne Marie and Catherine as well as granddaughter Bailey. Born in East Bay and raised in Beaver Cove. Marie was strong, resilient, fiercely independent, feisty and funny. One of the toughest broads Cape Breton has ever met. She was one of a kind. She also had a great fondness for animals, especially Scooter. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 at Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home, 8 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines.
