1940-2018
Bathurst – Marie Assaff of Daniel Dr.,
Bathurst, passed away Tuesday, November 27th at
the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst at the age of
78.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter
of the late A.J. “Tony” and Rada (Awad)
Assaff.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart
Catholic Women’s League and the Bathurst Duplicate Bridge
Club. Marie worked for many years in the
family business, most notably at the Bathurst Bakery, The A &
M Store and The Northern
Light.
She is survived by three brothers:
Donald Assaff (Murielle) of Ottawa, Paul Assaff of Saint John, and
George Assaff (Suzanne) of
Ottawa.
One sister, Georgette Assaff of
Bathurst.
Sisters-in-law: Cecelia Assaff and
Teresa Assaff both of Bathurst. Numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was pre-deceased by five brothers;
John, Antoine “Junior”, Raymond, Robert, and Michael and two
sisters Joanne and Ruth.
The family will receive relatives and
friends on Friday November 30, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Elhatton
Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Mass will
be celebrated on Saturday December 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. from the Sacred
Heart Cathedral.
Donations in memory of Marie may be made
to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
