Obituary of Margaret Flanagan
FLANAGAN, Margaret “Peggy”
Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 at the Niagara Health System – St. Catharines at the age of 82. Loving wife to the late Thomas (Tommy, 2015) for 54 years. Beloved mother of Daniel. Cherished Gram to her special Kira. Sister of James, Mildred (Jack), Maureen (Bill), Timothy (Bonnie) and Michael (Denise). Predeceased by her parents James and Mildred Gowan of Thunder Bay (Port Arthur). Great-aunt and aunt to many.
Peggy loved people, and always put them first. As a teacher, Peggy spent the majority of her 40+ year career mainly assisting those students in special education. Peggy had a sense of adventure and humor like no other, loved traveling the world with her husband Tommy and caring for her family and friends.
Family, friends and guests are welcomed to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, August 15th, 2018 for a Funeral Service in the ceremony room at 10:45am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, Peggy’s family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Lung Association of Canada or St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church.
Peggy’s family would like to extend a special and sincere thank you to all of the caregivers at the March of Dimes and the staff at the Niagara Health System – St. Catharines.
A celebration of life will take place in Sault Ste. Marie on Monday, August 27th, 2018.
