Margaret “Peggy” Guild
1924 ~ 2018
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Guild, 93, of Windsor, formerly of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on September 14, 1924 in Springfield, Scotland. She was a daughter of the late George and Lizzie (Turner) Imrie.
Peggy came to Canada in 1945 as a war bride and settled in Ellershouse, raising her family. In 2011 she moved to the Gladys Manning Retirement Community. Peggy’s passion was watching her grandchildren at their sporting events. She loved to travel and made many trips to Scotland. She was an avid gardener. Peggy enjoyed knitting, Scottish Country dancing. She was a member of the Newport Jolly Seniors and went with them on several bus trips. Peggy was past president of the Ladies Branch #9 Royal Canadian Legion, Windsor.
Surviving are daughters, Sheila (Garfield) Langille, White Rock; Phyllis Phillips, Gypsum Mines; Linda (John) MacDougall, Alberta; grandchildren, Scott, Tony, Peter, Jeff, Brian, Bruce, Matthew, Tammy, Mark, Robert, Grant and Ryan; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary and Janet; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, John “Jack”; son, George “Scotty”; son-in-law, Blaine; sisters, Rose, Judy; brothers, Alex, Jim, George, and Robert.
Peggy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Gladys Manning and Dykeland Lodge for the loving care they provided.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ellen Hunt officiating.
Private family interment will be in the Oakhill Cemetery, Ellershouse.
