Manuel “Manny” Labutong
Labutong, Manuel (Manny) Taberna – Retired Porter Dispatcher, Kingston General Hospital. It is with sadness that we announce the death of Manuel “Manny” Labutong on Canada Day, July 1, 2018 at the age of 76. After a hot and sunny day filled with music, family and friends visiting, Manny passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 51 years, Lourdes, by his side at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KGH). Proud father of Lory-Ann (Greg) Thompson of Ottawa ON, and Aileen (Stephan) Diment of Kingston ON. Cherished Lolo/Coco of Jordan, Caleb, Nathan and Grace. Fondly remembered by his extended family, nieces, nephews and friends. Always one to give out advice or a life lesson, he continued to do so in his last days. His deep voice, smile and laugh will be missed by many, including his companions at dialysis as well as those who shared in his enjoyment of playing the slot machines. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home – Kingston Chapel on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 3-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow service at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the burial at Wartman Funeral Home, Reception Centre. Friends desiring may contribute by cheque or credit card to the UHKF Cancer Centre or the Kidney Foundation.
