Obituary of Major Wallis Stainton
STAINTON, Major Wallis Howell – of Moira Place Long Term Care Home on Sunday May 6th, 2018 at the age of 86. Son of the late Charles & Lois Stainton. Cherished husband of Major Dorothy Lorena Stainton (nee Putnam). Loving father of Brent (Lois) Stainton of Erin, Ontario., Leslie Stainton of Fergus, Ontario and Brenda Gabriel (Peter) of Belleville. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Joshua of Erin, Jaiden of Belleville, Jacob of Erin, Justine of Belleville, Janaia of Belleville and Jaira of Belleville. Wallis is predeceased by his siblings; Harry, George, Audrey and Vincent Stainton. Dear brother-in-law of Grace McMeechan (Robert) of Victoria, B.C., and the late Clive Putnam (late wife Shirley). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church, 290 Bridge Street West, Belleville on Wednesday May 23rd, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to service.
If desired, donations to the Salvation Army, Autism Canada (to support research) or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
