With heavy hearts, loved ones of the late Lyman Matchett announce his passing on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 86.
Born on March 16, 1932, Lyman was the son of the late Andrew and Isabella (Sickles) Matchett.
Lyman delivered oil for Irving Oil for 36 years, keeping homes warm and making friends along the way. He was also a member of the RCE 59th Field Squadron and the Royal Canadian Legion.
Lyman was loved by Alyson English (Raymond), Susan Hare (John), Marla Walsh (Bradley),Steven Connick (Dorothy), Kirby Connick ( late Colleen), Wendy Moir (Les), David Connick, Tracy Mason (late Roddy), Faye Matchett (late Bob), Kathy Gordon (John), Karen Walsh (Blaine), Deanna Saunders (Joe) and the late (Trudy Gouchie) Paul.
He will be greatly missed by Evan and Maria English, James and Steven Hare, Christopher and Emma Connick, Kelly Wellwood, Gina and Devon Moir, Davis Connick, Eric, Kirk and Thomas Stothart, Michael and Kurtis Gordon, Andrew Walsh, Jessica Smith, Erin Gouchie, Sara McCallister, Todd, John and Adam Saunders and Angela Martin.
Caring nephew David Matchett and his wife Nancy, as well as other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Merle and Glenn and sister Jean.
At Lyman’s request there will be no visitation.
The Funeral Service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 29th, 2018 at 2 PM with Reverend Thomas Nisbett officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Chelmsford later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Lyman’s memory, donations may be made to Mount Saint Joseph Foundation or a charity of ones choice.
