SMITH, LYDIA DOROTHY (READER)
The passing of Lydia Dorothy (Reader) Smith of Oromocto, NB, occurred on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 7, 1934 in South Clones, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Johnson) Reader. Lydia was an affiliate of Blissville Baptist Church.

Lydia is survived by her sons, Linwood Smith (Linda) of Tracy, NB and Alden Smith (Karen) of Hoyt, NB; daughter, Tobi Patterson (Mark) of Brighton, ON; grandchildren, Allison Sewell (Kevin), Ashley Shannon (Jayme), Jeremy Smith (Andrea), Holly Tibbits (Derrick), Cora and Gina Patterson; great grandchildren, Caleb, Ava and Hannah Sewell, Kadance and Greyson Smith, Wesley and Jaxon Tibbits; sister, Violet Appleby (Carl) of Cambridge Narrows, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Newton Smith; she was predeceased by her daughter, Edris Smith.

There will be a private graveside service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family wish to express their gratitude to the management and staff of Oromocto Special Care Home for their care and compassion given to Lydia.
