Death Notice
HAMILTON, Lou – Peacefully, with her loving daughters by her side at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, St. Mary’s Unit, London on Sunday, October 21, 2018, Margaret Olivia Luella Hamilton, formerly of Grand Bend in her 96th year. Survived by daughters Lynda Moore (Bob, 2006) and Joanne Hamilton, both of London, son Greg of Oshawa, daughter-in-law Marlene Hamilton of Strathroy, sister Marjorie Carter of Clinton, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Harry (1984), son Bob (2016), parents Wallace Black and Gladys (Black) Turnbull, siblings Beulah Lassaline, Fred Black, Newt Black and Reg Black.
Lou was a life member of the Grand Bend Legion Branch 498, an active volunteer in Grand Bend delivering Meals on Wheels, driving people to appointments and helping at the Legion and Grand Bend United Church. She loved playing cards, golf, knitting, crocheting and her Blue Jays!
Many thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s 1 for their loving care and concern for Mom and the family during Lou’s stay of just over 4 years. Cremation has taken place and to honour Lou’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Inurnment of ashes will take place at a later date in Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lou are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society, Grand Bend Legion Branch 498 or a charity of their choice.
