Lorraine (nee McGarvey), died peacefully at Fairmount Home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Blaney. Loving mother to Maureen Tohill (Des) of Charlotte, NC, grandmother to Erin Robin (Richard) of Philadelphia, PA and Shaughn Tohill of Amsterdam, The Netherlands and great-grandmother to Elliot Robin. Survived by sister Agnes Menor and predeceased by sisters Evelyn McGarvey and Irene Murphy. Remembered also by nephew Brian Murphy (Alan Storms) and several nieces and nephews. The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Fairmount Home as well as her special friend and caregiver, Deborah Mathias. Family and friends will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Sunday, November 11 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. and on Monday, November 12 from 10:00 am to 10:50 am. Liturgy of the Word to follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal with Prayers at St. Mary’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Humane Society or Canadian Cancer Society in Mrs. Blaney’s memory.
