Lloyd Wesley Dealy July 4 1926 – November 2 2018

Obituary for Lloyd Wesley Dealy
DEALY, Lloyd Wesley
Died as he lived – courageously and peacefully on November 2, 2018 at Stirling Heights Nursing Home, Cambridge Ontario at the ago of 92.
Born July 4, 1926, the youngest son of the late Tom and Martha Dealy of Tara Ontario, Lloyd is predeceased by his cherished wife of 66 years, Doris Isobel (Middleton), sons Michael and Steven, infant daughter Sharon and his brothers Russel and Willard.
Forever loved and sadly missed by remaining children Janice Morris (Australia), Lance (Edmonton), Marie (Michael) Sullivan, Cambridge; Daughter-in-law Linda (Michael – deceased), New Hamburg; 11 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd farmed near Tara before he and Doris moved to Walkerton where they raised their growing family and resided for many years. Lloyd provided a local taxi service to Walkerton residents and delivered mail to many local village post offices. He also had his own school buses making the daily morning and afternoon rural routes to and from WDSS. He finally settled into a 21 year career at the Walkerton General Hospital as a paramedic and then Ambulance Supervisor over the Walkerton and Chesley Hospitals.
Upon retiring, Lloyd and Doris moved to Owen Sound, their old stomping ground, where the first priority was for Lloyd to establish his new passion in earnest, that being fishing from his 22’ boat outfitted with all the bells and whistles.
For the last decade plus, Lloyd called St Jacobs home where he enjoyed a peaceful and contented life. Early on he became a well known and much loved member of the community, navigating the village and the nature trails on his mobility scooter. He regularly met his friends for early morning coffee at the Stone Crock, frequently lunching and becoming a most loyal patron of the local Harvest Moon Restaurant. Lloyd was a good neighbor and friend to many of the local folk. For Lloyds 90th birthday celebration, a garden party was held in St Jacobs, attended by near 100 guests; neighbours, locals, former working colleagues, formerly bussed high-school students, immediate and extended family. Friends from near and far came to spend the afternoon with this good, kind, gentle man and it came as no surprise to hear the many and varied lovely comments, conversations and gratitude bestowed upon him.
The family wish to thank the staff and volunteers at Stirling Heights Long Term Care for their kindness and outstanding support during Lloyds final stages of life. Also special thanks to Wes, Debbie, good friend Rock and staff at the Carpenter House, St Jacobs where he lived comfortably for many years.
Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Lloyd’s Life on Friday, November 9th. Visitation from 1-2 PM followed by service and reception at 2:00 PM at Knox Presbyterian Church, 208 Cayley Street, Walkerton. Lloyd’s cremated remains will be interred in Tara Cemetery at a later date. Condolences and Donations to Alzheimer’s Society, Grey/Bruce Branch or ChildCan (supporting Children and Families through Childhood Cancer) are appreciated through Cameron Funeral Home, Box 69, Walkerton ON NOG2VO, cards available at the Service or online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
