Obituary Overview
Lloyd Hamilton
It is with great sadness that the family of Lloyd George Hamilton announces his passing, on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Sonjia and his seven sons Dale (Debbie), Rod (Cheryl), Radford, Greg (Candice), Darryl (Linda), Garett (Sheryl) and Sheldon (Jocelyn). Lloyd will be affectionately remembered by his 17 grandchildren. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents George and Luella Hamilton, sisters Hildegarde and Helen.
A native of Radisson, SK, Lloyd served in the Canadian Army until 1947. He returned to Canada to work in the construction industry in Vancouver Island and then in Saskatoon, until his retirement in 1982. Lloyd prided himself on the developments he had contributed to as Saskatoon grew and continued to enjoy seeing the evolution of the city through the years. He also farmed at the family farmstead at Radisson.
Lloyd enjoyed spending his retirement maintaining his love of farming, carpentry and woodworking. He became dedicated to “grandparenting,” from fort-building and story-telling to late night Kaiser games; he always said his grandchildren kept him young at heart.
The family wishes to thank Lloyd’s medical team from the last year, Dr. Nayar, Dr, Acktar, Dr. Shah, and including, the outstanding compassionate care he received from the doctor and nurses from Home Care’s Seniors First, St. Paul’s Emergency room staff and lastly, Dr. Graham and staff of the surgical unit.
An interment service will held on Saturday, September 29 at 3:30 p.m. for immediate family and close friends.
Memorial donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lloyd Hamilton 2018..
