In Loving Memory
Lloyd G. Nelson
June 9, 1929 – February 19, 2018
Passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Ross
Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, ON.
Born in Winnipeg, Man., raised on a farm near Wadena,
SK settling in Toronto in 1953. Lloyd was the eldest of nine children of Paul
and Dagney Nelson. Lloyd will be remembered by his loving wife Heather, son
Andrew (Deanna) and the late Little Lloyd and by his step children Vivian
(Harry), Greg (Anna), Andrea (Mark) and Dan (Kayoko). Sisters Doreen (late
Wally) and Betty (Harold) and brothers Paul (Marian) and Byron (Dianne). Loving Grandpa to Brittany, Xenia, Paul,
Chloe, Emily, Devon and Kouta and special great grandpa to Peyton. Lloyd will be remembered by his special
younger cousin Lillian and by his many nieces, nephews and extended
family.
Lloyd had a career in metal fabricating owning several
businesses and retiring at the age of 80. He enjoyed curling, golf and his home
on Lake Scugog where he lived for the past 15 years. Never one to turn down a
scotch and a game of cribbage while enjoying good conversation with many
laughs. He was well respected in the business community, his neighbors and
mostly his family as a caring honest gentleman. He will be truly missed and
remembered by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd,
2018 at 12 noon at NISBETT FUNERAL HOME, 600 Monaghan Road South, Peterborough,
705-745-3211, with visitation one hour prior.
Interment Rosemount Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital
Montreal or Covenant House Toronto would be greatly appreciated by the
