Lloyd Darrach
1924-2018
It is with sadness that the family of
Lloyd Nicholson Darrach, age 93, of
Norton, NB, husband of Marion (Bell) Darrach, announces his death
which occurred on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Ridgewood Veterans
Wing, Saint John, NB. He was born on August 15, 1924, in
Quincy, Mass, USA, a son of the late Daniel and Annie (Beaton)
Darrach.
Lloyd’s
childhood was spent in Bonshaw PEI. After his
service in the Navy during WWII he was employed as a CN station agent
with postings in Elmira, Tyne Valley, and St. Peters Bay, PEI then to
Fredericton NB until his retirement. In later years
they moved to Norton and enjoyed many winters in
Florida.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 69 years,
Marion; children: Trudy (Peter) Steele of Norton, NB, Blaine Darrach
of Cambridge Narrows, NB, Barbara (John) Wolfe of North Vancouver, BC;
grandchildren Rebecca Steele (Chris Herring) of Calgary, AB, Jessica
(Jon) Olthuis of Calgary, AB, Jennifer (Bob) Betts of Fredericton, NB,
Kari (Dwight) Staires of Durham Bridge, NB, Samantha Wolfe of
Vancouver, BC, Alexandra Wolfe of Vancouver, BC, Jonathan Wolfe of
Vancouver, BC; great-grandchildren Victoria, Aemelia, Josie, Emma,
Olivia, Brooke, Rowan; as well as several nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his
brother Charles and sister Dorothy
Affleck.
Lloyd’s
family would like to acknowledge Ridgewood Veterans for their kindness
and care during the past 6 months
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre
(506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. The Funeral Service will
be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00AM from
Sherwood’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in
the Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
Donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the
memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the
