With sadness, we, the family of Lionel William Sharpe, regret
to announce his passing on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
Born July 5, 1931, in Sydney, Lionel was the son of the late
Hector and Mary Ann (Porter) Sharpe.
Until retirement, he was employed as a truck driver with
Chappells Building Supplies, Sydney.
Lionel is survived by his daughter, Darlene Brown and her
children, Aaron (Geralyn), Andrew (Ashley), Melissa (Michael) and Evan
(Stephanie) and their son, Max William, Lionel’s only
great-grandchild; son, Adam (Marianne) Sharpe and their children, Liam
(Beth), Ellis, Nowell (Shannon), Ayden and Ayva; sister, Louise (John)
Glass, Florida; brothers, Hector (Darla) Sharpe, Arizona and George
Sharpe, Sydney; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his
life, his “hunny bun”, Florence Ann (Clements) and brothers,
Ainsley and Bob Sharpe.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of
Lionel’s Life will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on
Monday, December 10 at 2 p.m., with Mr. Gary Grant officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the SPCA, Cape Breton
Branch.
