LILLIAN HORNBECK (VAN BUSKIRK) nee SCHACHER
Born June 16, 1924 Walsh, Alberta
Passed away, January 14, 2018 Edmonton, Alberta
She will be lovingly remember by her daughter Judy (Allan) Franklin, of Kissimmee, Florida – and sons Colin (Leona) Van Buskirk – of Edmonton, Doyle (Katherine) Van Buskirk – of Greenwood, BC and Jack (Susan Place) Van Buskirk – Mundare; her six grandchildren and their families Shana (Owen) Potter. Alaina (Aga Manhao) Franklin, Chad (Virginia) Van Buskirk, Shane Van Buskirk, Jodie (Chad Young) Van Buskirk and Ryan Van Buskirk; her great grandchildren Kristen Potter, Brendan Potter, Sienna Van Buskirk, Romeo Van Buskirk and Cooper Young; and her many nieces and nephews and their families as well as her brother Ken Schacher.
She is also remembered by the Hornbeck families: Barb and John Slater, Doug and Jenny Hornbeck and Barbara and Bob Thompson.
Nine grandchildren Margaret, David, Robert, James, Tiffany, Tessa, Tenile, Kevin and Kendra, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Lil was pre-deceased by her husband Maurice Van Buskirk in 1984, her husband Bill Hornbeck in 1996 and by step son Harold Hornbeck. She was also pre-deceased by her sisters Ida, Frieda, Marion and Emma (Jerry Miller) and brother Art (Mary) and by her parents Jack and Mary Schacher.
We would like to thank the caregivers at Villa Caritas and at Shepherds Care Millwoods and Greenfield, and Good Samaritan Southgate for the care and compassion offered.
As Sienna would say ‘Grandma is with the stars now”.
