1939-2018
The passing of Lillian Rebecca (Pittman) Riche, wife of the late
Gordon “Frank” Riche formerly of Pennfield NB occurred on
March 25, 2018 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB. Born
in Heads Harbour NL on February 8, 1939, she was a daughter of the
late George and Olivia Pittman. A loving mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and sister, Lillian is survived by two sons: Terry
Riche of Dartmouth NS and Kenneth (Janie) Riche of St. George NB; one
daughter; Tammy Riche of North Bay ON; grandchildren: Tanya (Matt)
Mullins, Ruth Riche, Sarah Riche, Alicia McPhee, Jodi McPhee, Brayden
Riche, Lacey Riche and Tanner Riche; great-grandchildren: Xavier
Mullins and Taylor Mullins; siblings: Ivan (Alma) Pittman of Miles
Cove NL and Minnie Pittman of Springdale NL; several nieces, nephews
and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was
predeceased by two sons: Maurice and Gregory.
Lillian, since 1979, was one of the proverbial mothers of Charlotte
County. Her culinary skills were renowned far and wide. She prepared
meals for nearly every trucker that traveled the Number 1 Highway at
one time or another and she never had trouble speaking her mind. She
will be sadly missed by her family.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Lillian’s request there
will be no visiting or funeral service. In Lillian’s memory, donations
to a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the
family.
