It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend Leonard Ross at the Health Sciences Centre on April 5, 2018 with his loved ones by his side.
Leonard was predeceased by his wife Mary “Jane” Ross (Mason); his parents, Harvey A. Redsky, Helen Dorie (Ross) and stepfather Clifford Dorie; Brother G.W. David Ross, Sisters, Lorraine and Silver Ross; Paternal Grandparents Arthur and Mary (Blackhawk) Redsky, Joseph and Harriet (Chena) Ross; Uncles Angus Kelly, Thomas and David Ross; Aunts Marie and Audrey Ross.
He is survived by his sisters Darlene Comegan (Noel), Grace Marsden, Lynda Ross, Janice Ross, Mary Dorie, Shirley DeWind, Justice Gonzales (Friend Charlene); Sons, Jobb, Nicholas and Doyle. His special aunt Jean Redsky whom he cherished. Numerous nieces, nephews` and cousins too many to mention.
Pallbearers: Erwin Redsky, Randy Redsky, William Ross, Joshua Ross, Harold Dorie, Jerry “Moose” Henderson. Leonard went to Cecilia Jeffrey School for a year in 1969 and later returned home to Northwest Angle #33 to live with Grandpa Joe. Leonard turned to the Lord in his early years.
He was sarcastically humorous at times and made us laugh. Leonard and Jane always opened their home to everyone and always had food on the table for whomever visited their home. He worked at Tara Ford, the Aboriginal Funeral Home and Ekota Lodge. His friends called him DaVinci or Doc. He loved Lake of the Woods but his health prevented him from enjoying his life there.
Special thanks to the attending staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion.
Wake services will start on Tuesday, April 10 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 midnight and Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2018 at the Eternal Grace Funeral Home on 1111 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leonard Ross September 4 1961 April 5 2018 (age 56).source
