In loving memory
Passed peacefully away at Markham Stouffville Hospital after a brief illness, LEONARD MICHAEL DALTON, age 56. Born in Conception Harbour, Newfoundland. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Marie and his brother Wayne.
Forever loved and cherished by those he left behind. His sisters Georgina (Ray) Osmond and Sandra (Eugene) Mason. Brothers Martin (Margie), Rick (Helen) and sister-in-law Pauline Fitzgerald Dalton. Special niece and nephews Marty Dalton, David Osmond, Jeff and Jillian Mason, Nicholas Dalton and their families. Teachers, former teachers, staff and students at Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School, Scarborough, Ontario. A large circle of relatives and friends in Newfoundland and Ontario.
Len’s thirty year teaching career in Toronto covered Religion, English, School Chaplain and the Dramatic Arts at Mary Ward C.S.School. From his ability to quote Shakespeare to his attention to details on the theatrical stage Len inspired generations of students to learn, grow and to take risks. He will be forever loved and missed for his wit, wisdom and unconditional acceptance of every student who came through his door. Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Friends will be received at Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel,10 Cachet Woods court, Markham on September 27,2018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Memorial service on Friday September 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., guests received one hour prior. Donations gratefully accepted for the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of ones choice. Online condolences may be made by selecting the tab “Guestbook” located above. Cremation has taken place, inurnment in Conception Harbour at a later date.
