Leonard Carter (October 25, 1946 – July 26, 2018) passed away peacefully in Penticton, BC at the age of 71 years.
He will be sadly missed by his children Christina (Paul) Melanson of Calgary, AB and Jonathan Carter of Lethbridge, AB, the Barnes family, and extended family in the UK.
Leonard was born in Northallerton, Yorkshire, England and emigrated to Canada in the 1970’s where he became a Canadian citizen. He started work with CN Rail in Edmonton and relocated to Calgary and started his 30+ year career with the city of Calgary in the signals department for the LRT. In 2011, he retired and moved to the beautiful Okanagan and resided in Summerland, BC. He was active in the community and volunteered at the Kettle Valley Steam Railway and Citizens on Patrol.
Len’s passion in life was trains. His British roots followed him with his love for Coronation Street, fish and chips, and the Royal family.
