Leona Gertrude James
1925-2018
Leona G. James of Harvey, York County, NB, wife of Henry T. James,
passed away February 25, 2018 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB. She
was born at Harvey, NB in 1925, a daughter of the late Frank and Annie
(Manzer) Moffitt. Leona was a receptionist for Dr. George Fletcher
for many years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, the
Knox Centennial Guild, Manner Sutton Sewing Circle and the Eastern
Star. Leona enjoyed quilting, curling, knitting and reading.
She is survived by her husband of Wauklehegan Manor; a son Dwight
Moffatt (Mary), Harvey, NB; granddaughter Jennifer Boyd (James), great
grandchildren Lana and Anthony, Norton, NB; step-daughters Barbara
Hatfield (Hal), Deanna James, both of Hanwell, NB, Marilyn Jamieson
(Bob), Harvey, NB; son-in-law Merlin Webb, Fredericton, NB;
daughter-in-law Laurie James, Fort McMurray, AB; a sister-in-law Ada
Seely, St. Stephen, NB; step-grandchildren, Matthew Webb (Heather),
Connell, Abigail, Madison and Austin Jamieson, Jessica (Johnny) and
Devon James; six great step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Leona was predeceased by brothers Austin
and Willis Moffitt, step-children Elinor, Errol, Sheila and Laurie
James and Cheryl Webb.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral
services will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 24128 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Rev.
Anne Boudreau officiating.
A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment will
be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rhonda Moore,
Harvey Outreach and Wauklehegan Manor for their excellent care of
Leona.

has suggested the Alzheimer Society, Harvey Settlement Cemetery or a
