Leona (Watling) Fitzpatrick, of Miramichi, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018, surrounded by her family at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 84.
Born in Black River, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Ullock) Watling.
Leona worked as a Registered Nurse.
She will be greatly missed by her husband James Fitzpatrick; daughter Kathy (John Williams) of Colorado, USA; son Danny (Catherine) of Toronto, ON; granddaughter Ella Fitzpatrick; one sister Hazel of Ontario; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her four brothers Harry, Arnold, Eldon, and Byron; and four sisters Lorna, Ruby, Christina, and Margaret.
At Leona’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
A graveside committal will be held at Saint Stephen’s United Cemetery, in Black River, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Saint Stephen’s United Church in Black River, or to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation.
