URBAN, Leah Lorraine (nee Head)
September 14, 1951 – June 5, 2018
It is with deep sadness that the family of Leah Urban announces her passing on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the age of 66 years.
Leah was born and raised in Calgary. She was a very thoughtful, caring person but ambitious and always ready to take on any challenge.
While working in the manufacturing industry for Vipco International, Leah achieved the distinction of being the first woman on the Alberta Builders Association. Leah loved her cabin on Windermere Lake and spent many relaxing hours puzzling.
Leah is lovingly remembered by her husband, Klaus; daughter, Tarra-Lea Hoines; and grandson, Jager Valen Hoines. Also left to mourn Leah’s passing, is her mother Lorraine Head; sister Jackie Head Fidler (Gerry); niece Brandy Fidler (Stephen); nephew Tom Fidler, and many cousins far and wide.
Leah was predeceased by her father, Thomas Head and her sister, Rosanne Mateer
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Foothills Medical Centre for their care of Leah.
A Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
If friends so desire, memorial donations in Leah’s name can be made directly to the Cochrane Humane Society, www.cochranehumane.com.
