Forever In Our Hearts
Laura Johnson, 92, of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away peacefully with her family at her side. An enthusiastic cook who kept a warm and inviting home, Laura will be fondly remembered for her enduring grace, compassion for others, and especially for her love of family.
Born at home in Pratt, Manitoba – Laura was the only daughter of Thomas Henry Penrice and Catherine Isabella Davis, and the only sister to her five brothers Ronald, Ernest, Wilbert, Lloyd, and Earl. She is predeceased by them all; husband Otto Vernon Johnson of Cochrane; and, by daughters Carolyn Stefanson of Gimli,MB and Linda Kobza of Canal Flats, BC.
Laura is survived by daughters Charlotte Henson of Cochrane; Cathy Green (Derek) of Billericay, Es, UK; and, Ingrid Johnson (Cory Rushford) of Calgary; grandchildren Sigrid Stefanson (Brad Sawa) of Calgary; Christopher Vanderhorst (Kristen) of Minneapolis, MN; Neil Vanderhorst (Kim) of 100 Mile House, BC; James Henson (Leah Kemppainen) of Cochrane,AB, Nicole Henson (Shaun Cockburn) of Cochrane, AB; Ian Tuckey (Chris Riley) of Edmonton, AB; and, Owen Tuckey (Andrea) of Calgary, AB; and, great grandchildren: Bergie, Bjorn, Olivia, Beckett, Emma, Rebecca, Claira, Grace, Maxwell, and Amelia.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 AM with a reception to follow. Arrangements are in the care of Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, at 24223 TWP RD 242, Rocky View County, Alberta; T3Z 3K2 – on the corner of Lower Springbank Road and Horizon View Road 403-240-4032.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura’s name to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) or to the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Fund.
