Obituary for Laimi Kari (Somppii)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a most loved and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Laimi Kari, who passed away December 8th, 2018. Beloved wife of Heikki Kari predeceased 2012. Loving mother of Paul (Lise), Nancy (Frank Trottier), Sheila (Daniel Marcotte), and Leo (Tracy). Cherished Mummu to Andrew (Adele), Stephanie (Alex), Natalie (Craig), Bryan (Renee), Tiffany (Tom), Joseph, Krista, Cameron, and great grandchildren Theresa, Frederick, William, William, Tavish, and Brooklynn. Dear sister of Betty and Leo and predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
She was an avid knitter, who made hundreds of socks for many worthy groups and people, as well as blankets for the hospice. She was a keen gardener, whose green thumb produced beautiful flowers. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and baking. She will be remembered as a very generous and caring person who was devoted to her loving family.
A great many thanks for the staff at Walford on the Park. Mrs. Kari really enjoyed the service that was provided, meeting new friends, and everyone making her feel most welcome. The family wishes to thank the cook for making such delicious meals, which Mrs. Kari truly enjoyed and looked forward to.

Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at 11:30am.
Interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
(Friends may call 2-6pm Tuesday and after 10:30am Wednesday).
