HARDY, KIRK – It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Kirk Robert Hardy at the age 42, on Monday, July 16, 2018. He is survived by Ron O’Quinn, his loving parents Ken Hardy and Colette Johnston (Gary), his sisters Stacey Kokko (Gerry), Kelly Labonte (Yves) and Step- sister Jody Campbell (Greg). He was an awesome uncle to Blake and Brady Kokko, Abigail and Audrey Labonte and also survived by his Step-Grandma Mary Johnston as well as his fur babies and best friend Elaine VanSchyndel. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his partner Darren Bigney and grandparents Ken and Doris Hardy, Al and Kay Brann, Keith Johnston and his aunt Sherry Thompson. Kirk regularly worked as an advocate for people with autism. His love of that role, combined with his interest in law led him to pursue a new career as a paralegal and was the owner of Bluewater Paralegal. He advocated for the underdog. He was a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Club. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held from the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (102 N. Victoria St., N7T 5W9, Sarnia) on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment of Kirk’s ashes will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24th between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Point Edward Ex-Serviceman’s Club or the Sarnia Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
