Obituary of Ken TRAVIS
Ken, beloved husband of Midge, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Val Marie, Saskatchewan Ken grew up on his parent’s farm in Darwell, Alberta, and then, as a true Alberta entrepreneur, contributed to many enterprises. In life Ken believed in focusing on the positive within everyone he touched throughout his business and social life. He started, built and positively influenced many people through companies such as Imperial Oil, Beaver Geophysical, Liberty Airways, Travis Chemicals, International Drilling Fluids, Denham Brothers Ford, CC Snowdon Chemicals, Drilling Records, Bankeno Mines, Turbo Resources, Health Risk Management, MedTech Corporation and others. He will be missed.
Ken is survived by children Stuart, Shirley (Chris), Gordon (Gail), Donald (JoAnn), Marian Treleaven (Cameron); many grandchildren and great–grandchildren; and his brother Cecil (Ruby).
Ken was predeceased by his parents Leroy and Etta; his siblings Leroy (Buster), Clifford (Bud), Myrle and Carol.
In keeping with Ken’s personal wishes cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives are invited to join Ken’s family to celebrate his life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 2:00–5:00 pm at The Calgary Winter Club (4611 14 Street N.W., Calgary).
Rather than flowers, Ken would have donations go to a charity or group of your choice. He would think your choice ‘perfect’.
