1945-2018
Ehler, Kenneth David – aged 73, Peas Brook,
Guysborough Co., passed suddenly at home on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Born and raised in Peas Brook, Guysborough Co. he was a son of the
late Fred and Marion (Ehler) Ehler.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eileen
(Hendsbee); his step-daughter Maxine (Mike) Feltmate; 2
grand-children; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Gerald (Sandra) Ehler,
and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Angus
(Eileen) Ehler and Basil (Jeanette) Ehler.
Kenny was well known along the shore and loved by all those
who knew him. He began his career in the fisheries as shore skipper at
Canso Seafreeze, continuing on with 25 years of service with Fisheries
& Oceans. He was dedicated to the church, spending
many years offering his services as warden and treasurer to St. James
The Martyr Anglican Church. He will be deeply missed by family and
friends.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday,
November 22, in the St. James The Martyr Anglican Church, Halfway Cove
and from where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday,
with Rev. Susan Slater officiating. Burial will follow in the Church
Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the St. James The Martyr
Anglican Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Words of comfort may be
forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com.
