Obituary for Kay Broadbent
Catharine Bernadette ‘Kay’ Broadbent, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at the CKHA Public General Campus on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the age of 91. Kay was the daughter of the late Thomas & Annie (Broad) O’Neil. Beloved wife of the late John Arthur ‘Jack’ Broadbent (1998). Loving mother of Darlene Vanthournout (Dave), Darrell Broadbent (Bev), Barry Jay Broadbent (Crystal) and Mary Beth Broadbent (Rick). Dear grandmother of Meegan and Tara (James). Sister of Andy O’Neil (Simone), Dan O’Neil (Connie), Patricia Tremain and the late Bob, Ken and Bernard O’Neil. Sister in law of Helen Jakubec, Sandra & Roger Flynn, Windsor & Doreen Broadbent and the late Marie. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Members of the Wallaceburg business community, Kay and her husband Jack owned Broadbent Moving & Storage. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Women’s League, Holy Family Widow’s Group and was an avid curler. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 3 – 5 PM on Sunday. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 647 Murray Street in Wallaceburg, at 11 AM. There will be no funeral home visitation on Monday morning. Interment in Riverview Cemetery. If desired, remembrances to C-K Hospice may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
