Karen Lynn
Rand – 54, of Wolfville, formerly of Arlington, Kings
County, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the QEII Health
Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the
late George and Viola Henshaw. Karen loved horses and spending time
with her grandchildren. She was a very hard worker with hidden
strength. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Rand (Norman
Leggett), New Minas; a son, Steven Rand, Kentville; four
grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Rowan and Savannah; siblings, Frances
Henshaw, Eva Henshaw and Katie Henshaw, all of Windsor; Shirley
Oliver, Winnipeg; Connie Henshaw, Halifax; Angie Henshaw and Brenda
Henshaw, both of Wolfville; Douglas Henshaw, Kentville; Madelyn
Henshaw, Berwick; Juanita Henshaw; Colleen Henshaw; foster sister,
Wanda Rogers, Kentville; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her husband, Louis Rand; her foster parents, Art and Greta Simpson; a
sister, Mildred Henshaw; two sisters and two brothers, in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral
service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in the Arlington
Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes
Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
