Obituary of June Atkinson
ATKINSON: Edyth June (nee Pierce) –
Passed away peacefully at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the age of 95. Predeceased by husband Harold (1976), daughter Karen (1974) (Ted Holmes, 2001), father Harold and mother Fayette.
Survived by son Carl (Maureen) Atkinson and Mary Jane (Norm) Miller.
Grandchildren Julie (Mike) Bloemen, Christine (Greg) Park, Matthew (Patti) Holmes and Lyndsay (Kevin) Monk.
Great-grandchildren Deven and Emma Park, Anissa and Abby Holmes and Sienna, Makenzie and Danica Monk.
Predeceased by sisters Irene, Beryl, Lynn and brothers Doug and Pete. June will be missed by many nieces and nephews. June will be missed by her many friends.
She loved to have company for dinner, loved to cook and play cards. Thank you to all of those who visited her at home and at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Special thanks to the Domino Girls and the Widows Club. Thank you to Dr. Mayo, Dr. K. McCulloch, Shelley Stroud RPN, and the staff at Wallaceburg and Chatham Hospitals for their exceptional care.
Visitation at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm and on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 12:30pm until the Funeral Service at 1:30pm with Rev. Eric Skillings officiating. Interment to follow at Stewart Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of June to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
