Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
Josie was born in Wawota, SK on May 14, 1931 to Clarence and Mary Linder. She passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Mary Linder; husband John; great grandson Tristan; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Josie leaves to cherish her memory her children Mervin, Darlene (Don) and Roger (Lisa); grandchildren Jennelle (Brad), Braden (Brooke), Stephen (Ashley), Hanna, Alyssa and Kyra; great grandchildren Matthew and Brynn; siblings Marj, Phil, Doug (Elsie) and Reg (Sharon) and their families.
Josie moved to Regina at the young age of 16 and started to work at the Embassy Café. She soon met John, the cook and their life together began. They were married in 1949 and spent the first years enjoying dances, sing songs and hosting. Their kitchen and tiny home was the setting for many fond memories.
In 1952 Josie began her true life’s passion – raising children and caregiving. They raised three children Mervin, Darlene and Roger in a tiny house in Eastview. The early years were challenging but eventually John added on a bathroom and a kitchen. When they got running water to the home in 1969, the children left but the home wasn’t empty long.
Soon after she had grandchildren she babysat and eventually babysat the great grandchildren too.
Her entire life was in service to others and she was blessed to have her family by her side at her death.
A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE will be held.
